Dawn of the Jedi #1 is off to a great start and Daredevil #9 ruled as well. I still have many more books I got this week to go through I'm glad I'm off to a great start.

For some reason I was never really into Daredevil until just recently. The new series is fucking amazing. Aside from the most recent run of Animal Man and X-Force Dark Angel Saga it's probably my favorite current book. I love the artwork, topnotch.

Can anyone recommend a non-torrent download site for comics? Looking for mainly popular publishers like Marvel and DC, stuff I want to read but just can't afford to buy. Preferably if they upload by the trade. I can find single issues but it's a pain in the ass piecing everything together if you want to read a series that is like 25 deep.

I just found this one the other day. I've downloaded a few files off of it. So far so good. They also have a pretty nice selection of e-books.

our comic book buying day turned absolutely ridiculous yesterday once the gal got off work...decided to go ahead and start picking up issues of Uncanny X-Force, as well as the new Daredevil. in addition to all the other shit I grabbed earlier picked up:

Uncanny X-Force #1, #2, #4
Daredevil #1, #2, #2, #5, #6, #7, #9
wolverine & the X-men #1
army of darkness - comicspro variant sealed (only got this to resell and hopefully pay for a small part of the other shit we bought)

then as our delayed "valentines day gift" for each other we picked up the four single issues of the Batman Year One in beautiful condition -- it is my favorite batman story of all-time and I planned on one day buying as close to mint/unread copies as I could find ungraded and these fit the bill.

read through Batman #6 last night which ruled! probably my favorite issue of the new series yet

wolverine & the X-men #1- decided to give this a try gonna pick up some other issues.

Peter Panzerfaust #1- absolutely loved this....if you are on the fence about picking this up, I'd recommend it - the gal enjoyed it a lot too.

I thought the regular cover for Batman #6 was way cooler than the variant which was just batman fighting Talon again, I know the variants are more rare but I always opt. for the coolest looking

Yeah the regular cover is way cooler than the variant. Its not a huge deal for me to get my hands on it but would be pretty awesome if I had all the Batman variants so far

Has any body checked out Mondo? Is it any good? I was really intrigued by the cover, but I didn't know if it was worth shelling out the $4.99 for.

Of my pick up this week, read Daredevil and latest Punisher. DD was solid, Punisher seemed like a flimsy issue.
Captain America, Batman and Nightwing tonight.

Just picked up Peter Panzerfaust and Sacrifice #3 today, can't wait to dive into those. Oh and I found my Batman #6 variant as well. I also got lucky and found a copy of Prophet it's first printing (Rob Leifeld variant) and it was pretty damn awesome.

Just starting to get into some comics, I've been reading Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic: War, and I like it. Also picked up the first issue of Dawn Of The Jedi and I really dug it. The Darkhorse comic RageMoor that's coming out seems really cool to me. Now I'm trying to get into DC comics, gonna try to start with some of the new 52, Specifically Action and Detective. Earth 2 seems rad as well but I can't find a release date anywhere.

detective has really fizzled a bit as of late if you ask me. I liked how it started though. if you like batman titles, I can not recommend the regular batman series by Scott Snyder enough. IMHO the best running DC title out easily.

other stuff I've enjoyed thusfar: animal man / swamp thing (although I think knowing the crossover is coming this summer I thought it seems like a lot of filler waiting to get to the good stuff as each issue goes on), aquaman (and somewhat justice league) and lastly batman and robin.

all those titles would get my nod of recommendation!

I think I'll grab Batman instead of Detective now.. Animal Man seems cool, as does swamp thing but for those two I might wait for the trade paperbacks to come out to catch up on them. The crossover seems rad. Thank you guys for the recommendations, checking everything out today (as soon as my store opens)

Definitely if you're going between Detective or Batman, Snyder's Batman is a must. Not That I don't mind Detective but Batman is outshining Detective by a long shot, also Batman is leading up to "The Night of Owls" crossover with all the Bat family books though Snyder explicitly said that you don't have to pick up any other comic besides Batman for the continuity of Batman. I believe that starts on the #9's in May. This current story arc with The Court of Owls is going to go for 11 issues so I'm totally piped.

I think Earth 2 is going to start in May along with the 2nd wave of New 52 titles with Dial H for Hero, Batman Inc., etc...

Strain was also really good. Thanks for all the recommendations, getting into comics is a lot easier than I thought it would be

The "Owls" storyline in Batman has been a pretty ambitious story to start the reboot off with. I figured it would just be a quick 3-issue arc to kick things off, but week after week, it keeps expanding, in a good way. Apparently it's only going to get bigger too. It's going to remain the main storyline in Batman for at least a few more issues, and then totally explode into a crossover story involving Batman & Robin, Nightwing, Batwing, Batgirl, Detective, Dark Knight, Catwoman, Birds of prey, and Red Hood.....which I guess means I have to buy allllll those other issues, yeesh

I really love the Owls storyline, didnt Snyder say that you wouldn't have to buy any other comics but Batman to get the full arc? I have no idea how this works..

Nah. Each series is going to be do their own thing with the Court of Owls concept. Snyder's Batman is all you should worry about.

That's great news. I can see myself checking out how it plays out in Batman and Robin and Dark Knight, but there are some series that don't catch my eye at all

Little sidenote.. I feel like I'm collecting records when I see variant covers and I always want to buy them all but never do (thankfully)

haha me too, I don't go too crazy with trying to get every variant though. some titles I will want to get the variant or sometimes the variant cover is cooler than the normal cover.

There are some guys that collect the DC 1:200 variants which are very expensive. Some guy gets all of them at my local shop

Just looking through the 1:200s, some really rad covers. The 'normal' covers are just as rad though.

Just read American Vampire #24. I love this current arc set in the 50's. I'm loving the covers. also picked up my usual haul for this week. Gonna read All Star Western next.

For anyone that is reading All Star Western, in the last few pages of the main story, in Moody's home, the fuckin ese has like Stuffed Owls all over his living room... love that they're nodding to the Court of Owls in Gotham back in the 1890's.

I find it a little cliche at the core but I'm probably just nit picking cuz I can't put it down and keep buying it. Certainly well drawn and well written.
Spoiler (Click To View)

I also picked up The Flash #6 which didn't disappoint
TMNT which was meh, entertaining at least.
And I went big and picked up Uncanny X-Force #19, #19.1, #20, #21, & #22 (yet to read) so I can finally become current on the series. Don't be an idiot like me and sleep on this book, EASILY my favorite comic out right now.

Well when I first saw American Vampire, the first thing I thought was "oh great another vampire comic" but I picked it up and read it and was pleasantly surprised on how amazing Snyder's writing was. I also love the time period the first story arc was set in so it immediately drew me in. Been following it ever since. Rafael Albuquerque's art compliments Snyder's writing perfectly

Flash #6 was awesome and I picked up Uncanny X-Force 22 but haven't read it yet.

we picked up #1, #2, and #4 then picked up most of the current issues over the past two weeks. now just need to continue filling in the gaps to get caught back up to date... doing the same thing with chew and sweet tooth, piecing them all together to read in order. has been hard to resist just reading the digital copies we have but figure gives me more to do this way! can't wait to get caught up in uncanny x-force though shit rules thusfar

haven't got to sit down and read any of this weeks books though got the last part we needed to build our new computer system yesterday so spent the afternoon playing with it, now got about 24-48 hours of stability testing on the overclock luckily lots of downtime to read now!
