i don't know if this band has been posted in here, but i think anyone that likes shoegaze should listen to them. i've been doing so for about a week, and i think they might already be my new favorite shoegaze band. they are a band from osaka, japan called pastel blue. this is off a split they put out this year with sugardrop.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExL4opUUWwM

mediafire plzzzzzzz

i literally haven't found a single download link for this band. however, someone posted another song off the split and it's just as good!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgWLemysCYQ

This is right up my alley. This band just made my whole night. I wish I could find a download for it though.

Seriously

I downloaded the songs I could find on youtube and uploaded them. Some song called pastel blue by another band is included for the fuck of it.

i was going to check this thread one last time before i went ahead and did this myself. thanks man! i think i'm still going to go ahead and buy this stuff though. if i do, i will rip it and be sure to share it with you guys!

FUCK

what bands sound like the song blaster?

pastel blue, burrrn, the lilys, witherspoon

take that with a grain of salt though, none of them are clones. all great nonetheless.

also, i think blaster is a perfect shoegaze song. 10/10.

i don't think i've ever heard a shoegaze song that operates on this time signature that i don't love. recommend me more.

also, if anyone has a link to this LP, i would be greatly appreciative. can't seem to find anything.

I wish there were more albums like Susurrate by The Ecstasy of Saint Theresa. I know style-wise there are, but I haven't heard any with that kind of noisy, muddy production.

Heh, I can tell. The song in your screen name is easily my favourite too. Pigment is pretty awesome, but it doesn't compare to Susurrate, IMO. So dark, so amazing.

because the chord progression of the chorus is the same chord progression as the entire song? get real, if you are serious, then 99% of everything you like is already a rip off of another song.

Usually, I can excuse that kind of thing, but that's such a unique sounding riff, and I even find the vocal patterns really similar. I dunno.

unique? its a standard 4 chord progression. if i felt like trying, im sure i could come up with a handful of other songs that use the same exact one. dont get me wrong, i hear the similarity, but to call it a "bad cover" is a stretch. its not like we are talking about that anti-flag song that ripped off from ashes rise...

they just recorded for a 12" that's gonna come out on Panic Records, not sure when.

Cruyff In the Bedroom are great too, for the Japanese stuff. I think the UK pretty much takes the shoegaze crown, though.
